"As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him."

Sometime back I heard a father talking about his very active young son.  He said, "Yeah, he's a mess."  I smiled at the comment because the boy was, indeed, a mess at the time - covered with the tell-tale signs of a healthy young fellow into everything he could get his hands on.  Thing was that some of those things were things he had no business getting into!  But, the father also smiled and proceeded to call the boy to himself and care for him.

 

I know there are times when I look at myself and I have to admit, "I'm a mess."  I've gotten into some things - maybe some attitudes or ways of thinking - that I had no business getting into and I'm paying the price.  I can't help but think that the way my Heavenly Father looks at me is the same way that father looked at his son - not in anger but in love. 

 

Yeah, I'm a mess - but I'm God's mess!  Join me in running back to the Father for a good clean-up and a gentle hug!
